The Wellbeing Festival
South Hill’s Music Festival – put wellbeing in the heart of the curriculum.
South Hill’s magnificent grounds played host to our Music Festival, in June 2022, which took place during our Feeling Good Week 2022. On Wednesday afternoon, the children enjoyed health snacks and each key stage sang and danced with their peers in the beautiful sunshine. We have never seen so many happy faces and the atmosphere was incredible.
The musical choices of each year group were linked to the 7 decades of Queen Elizabeth’s reign, and this linked with our Platinum Jubilee celebrations. From the Beatles through to Sam Ryder ‘Spaceman’ our pupils sang through the decades from 1950-2020’s in celebration of music and dancing through the ages.
The pupils watched each other perform and cheered each other on. Mr Braithwaite interspersed the performances with classic pop songs that we could all enjoy together. It was great to see pupils from different year groups mixing, dancing and supporting one another. The atmosphere was amazing and was a truly joyous whole school wellbeing event.
A huge thank you to Mrs Toms our Music Lead for arranging this incredible event and of course Mr Braithwaite DJ extraordinaire.
