The South Hill Way

At South Hill, we follow 'The South Hill Way', which forms part of our behaviour policy. We follow the 'Steps' behaviour model, which is a therapeutic behaviour approach.

The 'SHW' is an important part of this and promotes our school values, 'The 4 R's'. These are linked to 'British Values' and underpin what it means to be both a pupil or adult at South Hill:

  • RESPECT= DEMOCRACY

    -We listen carefully to everybody.

    -We value every person equally.

-We are responsible for our own progress and learning.

  • RESPONSIBILITY = THE RULE OF LAW

-We follow our school and class rules.

-We make good choices and learn from our mistakes.

-We keep ourselves and others safe.

  • RESILIENCE - INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY

-We all have the right to express our own opinions and views.

-We show respect to everyone, even if we disagree with them.

-We have freedom to make our own choices.

  • RESPECT MUTUAL RESPECT

-We value our different background and beliefs.

-We are polite and have good manners.

-We help others to learn and to fulfil their potential.

We want every pupil and every adult to embrace and display these values so that everyone can achieve at our school because 'it's the South Hill Way.'
